Document Authentication

Standard and commercial documents may be authenticated at the embassy. Authenticated documents may be used in Sudan after they are certified by the competent authorities.

 

Requirements for standard document authentication:

        Documents issued by US competent authorities must first be authenticated by the Department of State. (Please note that the Department of State requires that the documents be authenticated by the State in which the document was issued). Further information may be obtained from the US Department of State authentication office at  1800-688-9889.

        Documents issued by a Sudanese competent authority must first be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign affairs in Khartoum, Sudan.

        Documents issued by countries other than Sudan or the United States must be authenticated by the Department of State.

        $54 processing fees.

 

Requirements for commercial document authentication:

        Commercial documents issued by US competent authorities must first be authenticated by the Department of State. (Please note that the Department of State requires that the documents be authenticated by the State in which the document was issued). Further information may be obtained from the US Department of State authentication office at  1800-688-9889.

        $604 processing fees.

 

Important Information

        Please make sure to provide the embassy with a copy of the document authenticated by the Department of State.

        All certificates of origin must be authenticated by the embassy in order to be used in Sudan.

        Applicants who wish to receive their processed documents by mail must furnish the embassy with a return envelope from USPS, FedEx, or UPS with a tracking number (postage/shipment must be paid by the applicant). Failure to provide a return envelope will result in delayed receipt of the processed documents.

Payment Information

        The embassy accepts only the following forms of payment:

  •         U.S. Postal Money Order
  •         Company check
  •         Cashier’s check

        The embassy will not accept personal checks.

        Walk-in applicants may pay in cash. Credit/debit cards, however, are not accepted.
