Entry Visa

Issued to persons going to the Sudan for the purpose of tourism or business.

Extensions of periods of stay in the Sudan may be done through the Passport, Immigration and Nationality Office in Khartoum, Sudan.

For Visit / Tourist Visa

Filled-out and signed Application Form. Each applicant should fill out a separate form, even for children of all ages
One (1) passport sized photo attached to the form
A Sudanese National Sponsor (with full details e.g. Full Name, Current Address, Phone Number). Photocopy of the Sudanese passport or Sudanese Nationality ID should be submitted with the application. If no sponsor, we will accept:
A confirmation letter from a Hotel in Sudan containing the hotel reservation details (OR)
A letter from a Travel Agency in Sudan containing the details of the trip.
Original U.S. or foreign passport (must be valid for at least 6 months)
Applicants holding National passport of a country other than U.S., must include a photocopy of the U.S. Green Card or U.S. Visa
Applicants holding U.S. Travel Document must provide the Embassy with a copy of an Entry Permit issued by the Ministry of Interior Passport & Immigration in Khartoum, Sudan and a copy of the U.S. Green Card as proof of legal presence in the U.S.
Fee is $154 payable to Embassy of Sudan (each applicant even children)
Applicants sending their applications by mail must furnish the Consular section of the Embassy with a return envelope with tracking number using Express Mail, Priority Mail, FedEx, or UPS (postage/shipment paid by the applicant). Failure to send one may cause delay in the return of the passport(s)
Applicants submitting their applications through our walk-in hours ( Mon-Fri Hours: 10:00am – 2:00pm) may bring a self-addressed return envelope with the appropriate stamps for Express Mail, Priority Mail, FedEx, or UPS, if documents/passports are to be mailed back

The normal processing time for Visa Application may take 5-7 business days. Please allow sufficient time to process visa applications.

Visa for Sudanese Holding Foreign Passport

Sudanese who are holding travel documents to re-enter the U.S.should also apply for an entry visa. Please note that copies of a Sudanese passport and U.S. Permanent Residence Card must accompany the visa application.

      1. Filled-out and signed Application Form (click here). Each applicant should fill out a separate form, even for children of all ages
      2. One (1) passport-sized photo is attached to the form
      3. Original U.S. passport (must be valid for at least 6 months)
      4. Proof of Sudanese Nationality (copy of Sudanese passport, copy of nationality certificate, copy of nationality ID card, or copies of the father/sibling Sudanese passport or ID)
      5. For applicants under 18 years old, we need a photocopy of the father’s Sudanese passport or Sudanese ID along with a letter written in Arabic giving his permission for the child/children to obtain a visa
      6. If the father is not traveling with the child/children, a No Objection Letter should accompany the visa application also a photocopy of the father’s Sudanese passport or ID (Please see No Objection Letter section)
      7. The fee is $54 payable to the Embassy of Sudan (each applicant even children)
      8. Applicants sending their applications by mail must furnish the Consular Section of the Embassy with a return envelope with tracking no. using Express Mail, Priority Mail, FedEx, or UPS (postage/shipment paid by the applicant). Failure to send one may cause delay in the return of the passport(s)

For Tourist/ Family Visits (this visa is for Non-Sudanese)

[South Sudanese, Eritrean, Ethiopian and other nationals]

Filled-out and signed Visa Application Form. Each applicant should fill out a separate form, even for children of all ages
One (1) passport sized photo attached to the form
A Sudanese National Sponsor (Full Name and Current Address) with a Copy of the Electronic Sudanese Passport or Sudanese Nationality ID submitted with the application OR a confirmation letter from a Hotel or Travel Agency based in Sudan with details of the trip
Original U.S. or foreign passport (must be valid for at least 6 months).
Applicants holding National passport of a country other than U.S., kindly include a copy of your U.S. Green Card or U.S. Visa
Applicants holding U.S. Travel Document, you have to provide the Embassy with a copy of an Entry Permit issued by the Ministry of Interior Passport & Immigration in Khartoum, Sudan and a copy or your U.S. Green Card as proof of legal presence in the U.S.
Yellow fever and cholera vaccinations are not required but recommended

The normal processing time for Visa Application may take 7-10 business days. Please allow sufficient time to process visa applications.

For Business Visa

Filled-out and signed Visa Application Form. Each applicant should fill out a separate form, even for children of all ages
One (1) passport sized photo attached to the form
A letter from the sponsoring company stating the purpose of the trip, duration of stay, financial responsibility and references in Sudan
Original U.S. or foreign passport (must be valid for at least 6 months)
Applicants holding National passport of a country other than U.S., must include a copy of the U.S. Green Card or U.S. Visa
Yellow fever and cholera vaccinations are not required but recommended
Fee is $154 payable to Embassy of Sudan (each applicant even children)

The normal processing time for Visa Application may take four (4) to six (6) weeks.

For Diplomatic Officials

Please submit the following:

Diplomatic note from the Department of State – Office of the Special Envoy (All details of the trip must be included)
Filled-out Visa Application Form
One (1) passport sized photos attached to the form
Photocopy of the passport
No fee required if holding a Diplomatic or Official passport
Applicants submitting their applications through our walk-in hours ( Mon-Fri Hours: 10:00am – 2:00pm) may bring a self-addressed return envelope with the appropriate stamps for Express Mail, Priority Mail, FedEx, or UPS, if documents/passports are to be mailed back
Normal processing time is four (4) to six (6) weeks. Passports are only required once the visa application is approved. The Embassy will notify the applicant as soon as approval is obtained. Visas are issued upon approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Khartoum, Sudan.

For Humanitarian
  1. Filled-out Visa Application Form
    Passport (must be valid for at least six (6) months and Should Not have Israeli Visas of Immigration stamps affixed to it)
    A Copy of the Humanitarian Aid Commission Certificate (HAC). This can be obtained from the Humanitarian Organization
    Employment Verification Letter from the Organization’s Office in the U.S.
    Yellow fever and cholera vaccinations are recommended
    One (1) passport sized photo
    Fee is $154.00
    Applicants sending their applications by mail must furnish the Consular section of the Embassy with a return envelope with tracking no. using Express Mail, Priority Mail, FedEx, or UPS (postage/shipment paid by the applicant). Failure to send one may cause delay in the return of the passport(s)
    Normal processing time is 7-10 business days
Important Note

All flight itineraries are not considered as a means to expedite any visa, and the Embassy doesn’t bear any responsibility for any changes that may occur in these flight arrangements as a result of visa delays.
Embassy will not accept any uncertified Companies’ sponsorship letter
Letters of invitation issued by business owners or companies or any letters issued by individuals will not be accepted and this may further delay the visa process
The Embassy only accepts U.S. money order, company check or cashier’s check. No personal checks will be accepted.
For walk-in transactions , we accept cash (no credit or debit cards). All payments must be payable to Embassy of Sudan.
